The Web3 Music Vault, an app built atop Darkblock’s protocol for decentralized content delivery and monetization, won 2nd place and a $20K prize in Magic Eden's recently completed Creator Monetization Hackathon.
Royalties on sales should never have become the be-all, end-all business model for NFTs. The fact they did demonstrates how unimaginative we've been as a space when it comes to understanding blockchain technology's potential impact on how creators can make a living from their work. At Darkblock, we believe NFTs aren't the business model—they are a key that unlocks business models. Here are four unique income-generating ideas for creators that are possible to develop using the Darkblock Protocol.
Last week on 'Darkblock Presents,' we sat down with All.Art/SolSea curator, Jovana Nedeljkovic. We discussed All.Art's recent switch to all virtual galleries, the ins and outs of 3D walk-through exhibitions, and the future of NFT galleries and curation. Watch the full recap here.
Our mission at Darkblock is to enable creators to harness the power of web3 and realize a new creator economy free from platform control. This series allows us to not only highlight and share the talented work of our community, but gain a better understanding of what tools we need to benefit all of us! And on that note, it is our pleasure to introduce Prizem.
Darkblock has officially partnered with Unmarshal, a multi-chain Data Infrastructure providing simplified access to data on DeFi, NFT and Metaverse. The partnership allows Darkblock to gather NFT metadata from a variety of chains in a decentralized, simplified way and helps Unmarshal direct their features. The partnership was a natural choice for Darkblock with our multi-chain, decentralized mission. Unmarshal’s technology allows Darkblock to expand into Polygon and other chains with ease without relying on a centralized API datasource. Our project is only as decentralized as its most centralized component, so we are thrilled to work with Unmarshal and get one step closer to our goals.
Darkblock is thrilled to announce our latest partnership with Cardinal, a rental protocol on Solana. The collaboration plans to bring rentable, unlockable content to the NFT community. The immediate use case for NFT rental will be the rental of 1 of 1 content like art and metaverse assets. Long term, our vision is to facilitate wide-spread rental of content. Music, podcasts, video content, and subscription to content feeds are the natural market for this service.
You asked and we answered! We are excited to announce our Solana blockchain integration! This integration was the natural next step for Darkblock, as four of the current “Top 25 NFT Marketplaces” are located on Solana (Solsea, Magic Eden, Solanart, and Digital Eyes). It is undeniable that Solana has taken off in the NFT space since September of last year.
